Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools improve the attainment and progress of disadvantaged pupils. The funding is used to support children who may face barriers to learning and to ensure they achieve their full potential.
Who is eligible?
Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools for pupils who:
-
Are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) now or have been at any point in the last six years
-
Are looked after by the local authority or have previously been in care
-
Have parents in the armed forces
How we use Pupil Premium funding
At our school, Pupil Premium funding is carefully planned and targeted to ensure it has the greatest possible impact. Funding may be used to:
-
Provide additional teaching and learning support
-
Fund targeted intervention programmes in English and mathematics
-
Support social, emotional and mental wellbeing
-
Subsidise educational visits, visitors and enrichment activities
-
Provide access to resources, equipment or extra-curricular opportunities
We regularly monitor the progress and attainment of pupils receiving Pupil Premium funding to ensure the strategies we use are effective.
Impact and accountability
Schools are required to publish details of how Pupil Premium funding is used and the impact it has on pupils’ outcomes. We review our Pupil Premium strategy annually and adapt our provision based on pupils’ needs and current best practice.
How parents can help
If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, even if they do not take a school meal, we encourage you to apply. This helps the school to access additional funding that can benefit your child’s education.
