Ofsted Report and School Performance

In February 2020 we were visited by OFTSED and inspected under the new Framework, we received a grade 3, requiring improvement.

OFSTED Website We are really proud of many aspects of the report. Behaviour in school is GOOD. Personal development is GOOD. Early Years provision is GOOD.

Other aspects of strength were outlined further in the report:

Pupils enjoy coming to this small, friendly school.

Leaders, supported effectively by the trust, have mapped out what should be taught in all subjects and in each year group. They have effectively focused their efforts on improving reading and writing. In English, teachers plan learning so that pupils gain new knowledge and skills systematically, based on what they have learned before.

After a secure start in the early years, most pupils have gone on to achieve above average standards in reading, writing and mathematics by the time they leave school.

Any sort of reflection is good reflection and an OFSTED inspection is just that, a time to reflect. The inspector agreed with the head teacher and senior leaders on the areas the school had highlighted needed developing and these are reflected in the school OFSTED report.

We are striving to be a ‘good’ school in the next round of inspections. A plan is in place and with the continued hard work of all the amazing staff, this will be successful.
